On top of the earth I put a thin layer of straw (just one bale in fact) to help the cuttings of Sedum establish. This straw substitutes in a (cheaper) way the expanded clay pellets (Arlita) which were used on the roof of the existing house. A possible fire risk by the dry straw is somewhat less because of the greater distance to the chimney. I planted cuttings of the same native Sedum species: S.album, S.anglicum, S. sediforme, S.acre and S. reflexum.
The new wing is now like an ensilage of fodder, prepared for a wet winter.

Encima de la tierra puse una fina capa de paja (de hecho una sola bala) para ayudar a los esquejes de Sedum de establecerse. Esta paja sustituye de alguna forma (mas barata) los granulos de arcilla expandida (Arlita) que utilizamos para el tejado de la casa existente. Un posible riesgo de incendio de la paja seca es algo menor por la mayor distancia de la chimenea. Planté esquejes de las mismas especies autóctonas de Sedum: S.album, S.anglicum, S. sediforme, S.acre y S. reflexum.
La ala nueva parece ahora un ensilado de foraje, preparado para un invierno lluvioso.
