No news from the terrain this time as I stayed for a couple of weeks in my country, the Netherlands. These regular confrontations with a completely different landscape (and people) are quite inspiring and stimulating.

The landscape of the Netherlands is practically flat and the combination of an extremely dense population and a singular devotion to organize, control and develop have ruined its aesthetic and ecological values. As a reaction, nature, ecology and green politics have become an important issue over the years and important efforts are made to defend what remains.

Here some images of the 'polder' Arkemheen in the centre of Holland, where my parents live. It is a kind of protected landscape, where it is still possible to walk or cycle peacefully with views into the distance, although 'progress' always lurks on the horizon.
