The roof beams are at distances of 35cm (in the centre) and 45cm so the compressed straw 'books' fit in nicely (straw bales measure 35x45cm). Between the straw and the ceiling we installed a barrier (the blue paper) against moisture, draught and straw.
Notice how one beam of each pair is perfectly horizontal (for a horizontal ceiling) while the other produces the necessary slope of 1.5%. An additional beneficial effect: the resulting bigger height of the pair makes the construction more difficult to bend.

Las vigas estan a distancias de 35cm (en el centro) y 45cm, asi los ´libros´ de paja encajan bien (una bala de paja mide 35x45cm).
Entre la paja y el techo instalamos una barrera (el papel azul) contra humedad, corrientes de aire y paja.
Observa como una viga de cada pareja esta totalmente horizontal (para un techo horizontal) mientras la otra produce la inclinación de 1.5%. Un efecto beneficioso adicional: la altura mayor del conjunto hace la construcción mas difícil de combarse.
